Nic Douglas attended University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1999 with a degree in Mortuary Science. From there he worked at Westlawn Hillcrest funeral home in Omaha, followed by Livingston Butler Volland in Hastings until purchasing Pentico Trade service in 2010.
Caroline Barr graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community college in 2014 with a degree in Mortuary Science. Shortly after that, she started her apprenticeship at Douglas Trade Service & Crematory and has been a licensed funeral director since 2015.
